Resources

Resources

These are what you need to deal with the problem at hand.  This could be equipment, personnel, or transportation.  Now take those 3 potential resources and  ask your self.

What do you have now? What do you need now? What do you need later?

Do you need help from the outside or can it be taken care of with what you have?  Every incident will require its own unique list based on the injuries, location, terrain and available resources.  Think about what your resources would look like for the following two patients.

A patient with a dirty wound to the hand that can be walked to a UTV, driven a short distance down a Dozer line to meet an ambulance at a DP.

Vs.

A patient with an unstable lower leg injury with poor CSM that is 1 mile downhill of a LZ  in steep, rough terrain with only 4 other personnel on the scene.

As the incident progresses over time your needs may change and you need to readjust as necessary.  You may need more or less resources than the original plan.
