Musculoskeletal Injuries (HB)

At the end of this lesson, you will have the skills and knowledge to understand and treat injuries to the musculoskeletal system.

You will be able to state how deceleration plays a role in injury, the difference between a stable and unstable musculoskeletal injury, the components of a good splint, when and why we traction into position, and what kinds of dislocations are safe to reduce.

You will be able to demonstrate applying a splint to both a joint and long bone and to reduce a dislocation to the patella, shoulder, or digit when created by an indirect force.
