Communications (HB)

Communication is one of the core components of a medical emergency. We are not concerned about a patient that gets a splinter in their finger–we are concerned with patients where we need to relay information about their status up the chain of command.

It is essential for communications to be as direct and clear as possible and to relay information in the order of importance. We all know how reliable communications can be in the backcountry, so we should manage the risks of losing comms.

At the end of this lesson, you will be able to fill out a MIST report for a patient and give an accurate and correct Medical Incident Report.
